How Long Can You Keep Cooked Eggs in the Fridge

Virtually fridges come with handy little racks for storing your eggs in the door.

But if you lot're one of the many that use them, you lot might want to have a rethink. Here's the lowdown on where you should go on your eggs.

Should eggs be stored in the fridge door?

Information technology turns out that the temperature in that part of the fridge is not right for eggs at all, according to Sara Benwell, Consumer Editor for Good Housekeeping.

She explained: "Not only is the door the warmest role of the refrigerator, it's too the nearly susceptible to temperature fluctuations.

"Eggs are best when stored at a consequent temperature, then we recommend keeping them in the fridge on the middle shelf."

The British Egg Information Service says eggs should exist stored below 20°C (68°F) and temperature fluctuations should be avoided.

Its guidelines state: "Endeavour to avert moving them too ofttimes betwixt very cold and very warm temperatures such every bit between a hot automobile and refrigerator, or fridge and hot kitchen.

"The all-time practice is to store eggs in the fridge – that way the temperature is e'er at a constant and your eggs will be fresher."
